FORMENTERA BEACHES
Formentera’s beaches… probably the main reason why you are considering Formentera as your holiday destination. As you might have heard and seen, this little island just below Ibiza has the most stunning beaches in the Mediterranean Area. The great this is that it actually has several amazing beaches, not just one, although the most famous beach by far is Ses Illetes. Being ranked on many “top 10 most amazing beaches” lists it’s easy to understand why you would want to come to Formentera on holidays.
The island is shaped like a boomerang with beaches on most side, apart from the eastern bit (La Mola). This particular shape is the secret to Formentera’s beach success as this allows you to always find a beach that is covered from the wind and (small) waves, and its small size allows you to get to pretty much any beach within 10 to 15 minutes by car. This makes every day a perfect day for the beach, no matter where the wind blows.
Formentera is by no means a surfer’s paradise, waves are very rare especially in summer. This island is perfect for those seeking an almost swimming pool like sea with easy sloping and shallow waters. It’s in a way a Carribean paradise in the Mediterranean Sea with the laid back vibe of those Ibiza hippy days gone by.

In Formentera everybody seems to flock to the beaches just after 11.00 AM, so go earlier if you want the better spots. Other parts of the island get less crowded as not everyone coming to Formentera knows about these more tucked away beaches. We have listed a few of the more well-known beaches, as well as some lesser known, yet still beautiful beaches to
